Golden Arms: Ghana’s national armwrestling team conquers Africa

In a historic triumph, Ghana’s Armwrestling Team has accomplished the extraordinary feat of hosting and winning the 12th Africa Armwrestling Championship.

Demonstrating an impressive combination of strength and skill, the Ghanaian team secured a remarkable total of 132 medals, establishing their dominance in the highly competitive tournament.

Throughout the championship, the Golden Arms surpassed formidable rivals such as Egypt and Nigeria, showcasing their exceptional abilities.

Exhibiting their prowess, Team Ghana amassed an astonishing 1088 points, securing the top position on the medal table.

Their exceptional performance included a remarkable haul of 47 gold, 55 silver, and 30 bronze medals, highlighting the team’s consistency across various categories.

This outstanding achievement represents a significant improvement for Team Ghana compared to their previous showings in the tournament, showcasing their growth and dedication to the sport.

Egypt, another strong contender, claimed the second spot on the medal table with a respectable total of 282 points, earned through 25 gold and 4 silver medals.

Nigeria also demonstrated their talent and determination, accumulating 247 points with an impressive collection of 10 gold, 9 silver, and 14 bronze medals.

Mali and Senegal, two emerging forces in armwrestling, rounded off the top five on the medal table, emphasizing their increasing presence in the sport.

The championship, held at the GNAT Hall in Accra, provided an exhilarating platform for armwrestlers from across Africa to compete and showcase their abilities, with Ghana emerging as the undisputed champion. The remarkable performance of Team Ghana not only highlights their dedication and skill but also elevates the country’s status in the realm of armwrestling.
