GTTA set for ITTF-PTT level 1 Coaching Course

The Ghana Table Tennis Association, GTTA, with support from the International Table Tennis Federation and Olympic Solidarity has scheduled its second ITTF level 1 coaching course and Training Program from Friday 19th to Tuesday, 23rd January, 2024.

The exclusive course which would take place at the University of Ghana sports directorate would see 30 participants across Ghana and Nigeria undergo the rules, regulations and technical developments of the sport.

It would also feature both theory and practical sessions as well as ideas aimed at identifying coaches and players techniques in various competitions. The program starts 9:00am to 5:00pm each day.

According to Ghana’s certified competition manager and course coordinator, Mr. William Berekorang Asare disclosed that successful measures have been put in place.

“We have arranged everything accordingly, the course instructor from ITTF has arrived, the venue including other learning materials are also set. We are making sure the participants enjoy themselves while learning and exploring new ideas.” He said.

“This is second edition under the current administration, the first which was held last year was successful and all the coaches had distinction. They comported themselves very well and the instructor was delighted with their performances and inputs. So we are aiming to go a niche higher this year.” He added.

Mr. William Berekorang Asare, the coordinator also disclosed that, participants from other countries have also shown interest and are expected to arrive for the course.

He, however, noted that “the coaching course is from 19th to 23rd January 2024 and from 24th to the 29th January will be a training program for our athletes in preparation for 13th African Games. The program will be supervised by the International Table Tennis federation expert in the person of Mohammed Ameen Mohammed Atoum.”
