Tournament top scorer Abdul Aziz Issah, the young sensation, put the Still Believe Lads in front with a goal five minutes before halftime, much to the dismay of the home fans at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo..

However, the home team equalised through Deputy Echeta just as the hour mark approached.

With nine minutes remaining, Dreams defender Seth Agyemang received a second yellow card, resulting in his expulsion from the match.

In the dying moments of stoppage time, Kazie Godswill scored the winning goal, sending the fans into a frenzy with the final strike of the game.

Both Rivers and Dreams progressed to the quarterfinals from Group C, with the Ghanaian side finishing atop the table based on the head-to-head rule.

Elsewhere in Rades, Club Africain surprisingly shared points with underdogs Académica Petróleos do Lobito at home, a result that cost the Tunisian powerhouse a spot in the next round.

Dreams FC now holds the distinction of being the first Ghanaian club to reach the knockout phase of the CAF Confederations Cup since 2004, emulating the achievements of giants like Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
