At the on-going African Games table tennis competition being held at the Accra International Conference Centre, the competition continues to become keener in singles category.

Ghana’s Cynthia Kwabi remains the only table tennis player from Ghana to progress to the round of 16 in the singles category of the table tennis competition.

She beat Angola’s Ruth Tavares 3-1 (11-2, 8-11, 11-9 and 11-8). Prior to that victory, she had earlier beaten Kenya’s Sifa Nafula 3-0 (11-3, 11-2 and 11-4) in the round of 32.

The three-time Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) award winner has an uphill task against Egyptian youngster Hana Goda who is in top form.

A win for Cynthia Kwabi will see her progressing to the quarter finals of the singles competition.
