Greater Accra Handball Association Sets Date for Open Championship

The Greater Accra Handball Association have scheduled April 18-19 for their Annual Open Championship at the Prisons Handball Court.

The two day event which is to usher in the league season is under the theme, “Igniting the Passion” and would witness strong handball teams across the capital.

It is expected to attract 14 male and 11 female teams competing for the ultimate trophy and the bragging rights.

Defending champions Reformers, Police, Army, Air Force, Fire, University of Ghana, Navy, Kasland, Great Fingers, Hostac, Cantonment Youth, EL Wak Wings, Healthy Life and Ashiaman Spikers will be the teams in the male category.

The female division would feature Army, Prisons, Navy, Air Force, Cantonment Youth, University of Ghana, Fire Service, Kasland, Ashiaman Spikers, Healthy Life and defending Champions Police.

Ahead of this year’s edition, the astute chairman of the Greater Accra Handball Association, Mr. Rama Kudolo has appealed to corporate bodies and enthusiasts of the sport to come to the aid of the association in terms of sponsorships for the championship and the league at large.

Gracing the occasion as the guest of honor would be the Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Rita Odoley Sowah, Handball President of Ghana, HAG Executives, and Members from the Veterans Association of Handball.

Winners of the championship will receive trophies and medals.
