All is set for what promises to be an explosive encounter between two West African football giants.

This time around, the rivalry has moved onto the same at the sprawling southern Volta coastal town of Keta.

The fast developing tourist hub will host the highly anticipated Ghana versus Ivory Coast clash at the Emancipation beach resort.

Ghana is yet to record a win over their more experienced Ivorian opponents but according to head coach Daniel Kotey, this unfavourable record must be altered.

“I don’t want to talk much but I know that on Sunday July 21, 2024, the boys are going to give over 100% in the match and that should be enough for victory”.

The management, technical team and playing body on Saturday, paid homage to the Warlord of Anlo, “Awadada” at his Palace in Keta to seek blessings ahead of Sunday’s game.

Meanwhile, thousands of supporters are expected to throng the Emancipation beach following the call for massive support by the Chairman of the Ghana Beach Soccer Committee, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.

“Over the years, Keta has developed a consistent Beach soccer culture with vibrant teams, exciting players and a unique Beach Soccer vibe. All these will be on display so I’m urging fans to come in their numbers to cheer on the Black Sharks to victory.”

The return leg will take place in Abidjan on Saturday 27th July 2024 with the winner securing a slot to Afcon 2024 in Egypt.
