The final match of the 2024 Olympic men’s basketball tournament took place in Lille. As in the last Olympics in Tokyo, the gold medals were contested by the USA and France.

The hosts of this year’s Olympics couldn’t take revenge and had to settle for silver once again.

Notably, this victory marked the fifth consecutive Olympic gold for the American team, beginning with Beijing 2008. Kevin Durant secured his fourth gold, while the legendary LeBron James achieved his third career Olympic gold, having not participated in the last two Olympics.

The Americans, playing as favorites, started the game strongly and led 49-41 at halftime. Although they couldn’t significantly extend their lead in the second half, LeBron and company held on for the victory.
