In 2016, Hon. Wilson Arthur breathed new life into Mighty Royals of Daboase, transforming it into Skyy FC. Against all odds, the team went unbeaten in the 2016/17 season and earned a well-deserved promotion to the Division One league.

Skyy FC’s inaugural season in the Division One league was nothing short of phenomenal, securing third place until the 2017/2018 season was cut short due to the Anas exposé. Undaunted, the team bounced back to win the 2018/2019 Normalization Novelty competition.

The COVID-19 pandemic may have disrupted the 2019/2020 season, but Skyy FC’s dominance was undeniable, sitting comfortably atop the league with a five-point gap. Although Bibiani Gold Stars edged them out for qualification in the 2020/2021 season, Skyy FC rebounded to win the inaugural Top 8 DOL Super Cup, cementing their reputation as Ghana’s top Division One team.

The 2021/2022 season saw Samartex FC’s surprise promotion, while Skyy FC was favored to secure premier league qualification in the 2022/2023 season.

However, boardroom point deductions allowed Nations FC to leapfrog them. Skyy FC still reached the Super Cup finals, only to lose to Bofoakwa Tano FC, a team they had previously defeated 2-0.

The departure of key players and Head Coach Malik Mohammed significantly impacted Skyy FC’s performance in the 2023/2024 season, finishing fourth.

In a stunning turn of events, Skyy FC’s management opted to exit the Division One league competition, agreeing to sell the team. But when the buyer failed to deliver, Skyy FC swiftly implemented “Plan B.” Within four weeks, they assembled a new squad and appointed a fresh technical team.
