Ghana place second in the Africa Aquatic Zone 2 Swimming Championship At Borteyman

Team Ghana came second behind first place Senegal in the 2024 Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Championship swimming their neighbors in the Competition amassing a total of 56 medals in both the juniors and the seniors groupings.

The Ghana Swim Team lead by Abeiku Jackson grabbed a total of 21 Gold, 20 silver 15 Bronze medals for both seniors and juniors

Harry Stacey got the spot light with more medals in both 100m Freestyle, 200m backstroke 50m freestyle and was a star at the Africa zone 2 Aquatic championship in Borteyman.

Abeiku Jackson also conquered with a Gold Medal and the likes of, Nubia Adjei, Titus T. Ankra, Abdellah Mercedes Y, Snowden Ivan, Jada Yankey and other swimmers raising the flag of Ghana, including the youngest discovery of the 2024 Africa Zone 2 Aquatic championship Jada Yankey the 12 years old inspiring athlete, the future of Ghana’s female swimming, dominating the medal table for Ghana and outshining her senior competitors.

Mrs Farida Alhassan, Treasurer of the Ghana Swimming Association and an executive member of African Aquatics as well as committee member of World Aquatics said the future of Ghana Swimming is very bright and hopes for an Olympic gold medal are high so the swimmers are focused and training very hard.

She named Jada as a great potential to become an Olympic podium hope.
