Accra Lions were held to a goalless draw in their matchday 7 encounter with Young Apostles FC at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.

The hosts created numerous chances but were denied by the heroics of goalkeeper Maswudu Zulka.

Lions, who were held by Berekum Chelsea at the same venue last week, were determined to return to winning ways and wasted no time in establishing their intentions as Ezekiel Alladoh came close.

Moments later Jacob Awoute met a swinging corner kick from Remember Boateng, missing by inches before Zulka made a point-blank save from an Ali Mohammed strike.

Alladoh had a glorious chance halfway through the first half but missed before another spectacular save from Young Apostles stopped a goal-bound header from Remember Boateng.

Emmanuel Kontor fired from long range as Young Apostles began to warm themselves into the match but it was short-lived.

After the break, Accra Lions tested the goalkeeper again after Lawrence Setordjie forced the goalie into another brilliant save before a penalty shout was waved on by the referee.

At the other end, Afful made a brave save in the box after his defender were late to react to a corner kick.

Late in the game, Zulka continued his brilliance, stopping a flurry of attack as the visitors returned to to Wenchi with a valuable point.
