The Black Sharks succumbed to a 6-3 loss to hosts Egypt in the opening match of the 2024 Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations (AFCON) match played at the Hurghada Beach Soccer Arena on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Ghana’s all-time top scorer at the AFCON, Alexander Adjetey Adjei, grabbed a hat-trick in the match, but that was not enough to redeem the Black Sharks from defeat in the high-octane clash between the two sides.

From the outset, both teams exhibited aggressive attacks, with the two teams hitting the posts twice in the first period.

The Egyptians, however, shot into a 3-0 lead in the second period before Ghana pulled one back.

The Egyptians relentless attack saw them extend their lead shortly after, despite Ghana’s resilient response with three goals from Adjei.
