HISTORY MADE: Thelma Baffuor Atuah Becomes Second Ghanaian to Win CAF Women’s Championship

In an impressive display of skill and determination by former Jonina Football Academy’s star, Thelma Baffuor Atuah, a fast emerging footballer who has made history by becoming the second Ghanaian to win the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Atuah’s team, TP Mazembe, defeated AS FAR 1-0 in the final match held in Morocco on November 23, 2024.

Atuah’s achievement is a reflection of her hard work and dedication to the beautiful game. The 20-year-old midfielder has been an integral part of TP Mazembe’s success, showcasing her exceptional skills and tactical prowess throughout the tournament.

This is not Atuah’s first notable achievement in football. She has previously played for the junior national teams and has been instrumental in qualifying Jonina Football Academy from the Greater Accra Division One league to the Malta Guinness Premier league.

Atuah’s win is also a source of pride for Ghana, as she becomes the second Ghanaian to win the CAF Women’s Champions League, following in the footsteps of Blessing Agbomadzi, who won the title with AS FAR.

The victory of TP Mazembe has also earned the team a significant prize of $600,000, while AS FAR, the runners-up, will take home $400,000.
