GAF Wins 40 Medals at the 2024 African Military Games

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) sports teams have secured a total of 40 medals, comprising 8 gold, 16 silver, and 16 bronze at the African Military Games Abuja (AMGA) 2024, held at the Mashood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria.

In closing remarks, the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Nigerian Armed Forces, General Christopher Musa, applauded the teams for their inspiring display of courage, skill, and sportsmanship.

He added that while the medals and trophies represent the pinnacle of achievement in the games, every team was a winner irrespective of ranking or position.

He congratulated all participating teams for their show of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

At the end of the tournament, Team Nigeria topped the medals table clinching a total of 234 medals, followed by Algeria with 96 medals, Kenya hauled 59 medals to clinch third place, while teams Ghana, Ethiopia, and Tunisia secured fourth, fifth, and sixth positions respectively.
