Ghana Olympics Committee congratulates John Dramani Mahama

The President of the Ghana Committee (GOC), Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah, has sent a congratulatory message to Ghana’s president-elect, John Dramani Mahama, after his triumph in the country’s recent presidential elections.

The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, was re-elected as head of state after winning the 2024 general elections with a staggering 6,328,397 votes which represents 56.55% as compared to his closest rival, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 4,657,304 votes which represents 41.61%.

In an official letter, Ben Nunoo Mensah formally conveyed his congratulations on behalf of the GOC.

“Your Excellency,
On behalf of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and the entire Olympic movement in Ghana and the world over, I extend the warmest congratulations to you on your emphatic re-election as the President of the Republic of Ghana”.

“Your remarkable comeback is a testament of your strength, character, resilience, selfless- leadership, as well as the overwhelming trust and confidence the Ghanaian people have in your vision for our nation”.

“The GOC recognizes your longstanding commitment to youth empowerment, sports development and promotion, as well as the creation of an enabling environment to attract sports investment.

The GOC is also excited about the limitless opportunities that your leadership is set to bring to the sports industry.
As an organization dedicated to promoting sports and nurturing young talent, we assure you of our unwavering support and cooperation in advancing the youth and sports agenda of your government.

“Your Excellency, in this regard, we trust that your administration will prioritize Youth and Sports as a cornerstone of our national development agenda, as captured in your manifesto”.
