Legon Cities’ woes this season have been further compounded after they were beaten 1-0 in the capital derby against Hearts of Oak on Friday January 3, 2025.

Ahmed Ramzy Yussif first half strike turned the game on its head and left the visitors with a pyramid to climb at the bottom of the Premier League table.

A goal in each half from Samuel Prempeh and Emmanuel Fosu secured the important victory for the home side.

Prempeh put Apostles in front in the 30th minute before Fosu Kyei added the second on the hour mark.

Only three points separate the two teams as Young Apostles lie 12th in the table with 17 points while United are just above the drop zone with 14 points.

Vision FC triumphed 1-0 over Nsoatreman FC at home on Sunday to continue their push in their debut Premier League campaign.

Abdul Rauf Sulemana’s sixth minute strike separated the two teams at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.
