President of Young Apostles, Sammy Anim Addo, has called for the dismissal of the club’s statement disassociating themselves from comments he made on referee Maxwell Hanson.

Anim Addo described the centre referee in Accra Lions defeat to Dreams FC as being chosen by the Ghana Football Association as their man for ‘dirty works.’

He also alleged threats from the FA to relegate his club, Young Apostles after calling out officiating deficiencies in the Ghana Premier League.

While Anim Addo’s remarks have seen him being charged by the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA, Young Apostles, in a statement disassociated themselves from the comments of their co-owner.

Young Apostles FC wishes to clarify that a recent statement made by Mr. Samuel Anim Addo (Club Official/Member) on social media directed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) does not reflect the views or opinions of our club. We strongly disassociate ourselves from these comments and any sentiments expressed therein,” the statement read.

However, quizzed on Prime Sports on JoyNews, Anim Addo asked football fans not to pay attention to the official release from the club.

“That’s another unfortunate situation. It’s not from the club; I am a co-owner of the club. Whoever wrote that letter has no authority over me. Disregard that statement,” he said.

“The person who sanctioned that letter is not the CEO but a general manager, and he does not have authority beyond me. Nobody authorized him to write that letter, but I know where all this is coming from. Don’t worry.”

On his charge by the Disciplinary Committee, Anim Addo has until Monday, January 13 to respond
