The President and Owner of Tema Youth FC, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer has blamed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the Black Stars’ recent shambolic performances.

The senior national team has come under serious scrutiny for their horrible performances.

Following their back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group phase elimination, the senior national team for the first time in two decades, the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament which is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco later this year.

After six games played during the qualifiers, the four-time African champions recorded three draws and three defeats and finished at the bottom of Group F with three points.

Speaking in an interview, Osei Palmer said the current leadership of the Ghana FA must be blamed for the recent poor performance of the team.

According to him, the GFA has failed to unite the football community. Osei Palmer added that he is pained due to how he has been treated by the current leadership of the GFA.

Sometimes I wonder why people say Black Stars are suffering but the truth is that you cannot treat people like this and expect that the senior national team will prosper,” he told Asempa FM.

“The team has no blessings. This is the national team that I have served and helped and this how I am being treated like this?

“I am sorry but I am pained,” he added,” he added.

The Black Stars will hope to improve their performance when they take on Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March later this year in the Matchday five and six games.
