Senior Inspector Charles Bulu, a distinguished Ghanaian immigration officer and FIFA referee, has achieved a remarkable milestone in his illustrious career.
For the seventh consecutive year, Bulu has had his FIFA referee badge renewed, a testament to his exceptional dedication, expertise, and commitment to the beautiful game.
Bulu’s remarkable journey began in 2008 when he joined the Ghana Immigration Services. Over the years, he has balanced his immigration duties with his passion for refereeing, rising through the ranks to become one of Ghana’s most respected and accomplished FIFA referees.


The Ghana Football Association (GFA) recently honored Bulu with his new badge for 2025 at the FA Secretariat. This marks his seventh consecutive year of receiving the prestigious badge, having first received it in 2019.
Throughout his career, Bulu has officiated numerous high-profile international matches, including the friendly match between Nigeria and Egypt’s senior national teams. He has also refereed CAF Champions League (CL) and Confederation Cup (CC) games, such as Raja (Morocco) vs. Brikama United (Gambia) and Verde vs. Eswatini (AFCON qualifier). Additionally, Bulu has been involved in several World Cup qualifiers, showcasing his expertise and consistency on the global stage.
