Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has been appointed as the new Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA) by President John Mahama according to local media reports.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is a seasoned and globally acclaimed sports journalist, endowed with integrity, elegance, and desire for the development of sports in Ghana.
Known for his dedication to the growth of beach soccer in the country over the years, his rise to a complete brand in the sporting industry can never go unnoticed.
Mr Ankrah would work closely with the Sports and Recreation Minister, Hon. Kofi Adams to develop, organise promote and manage competitive and social sports with the view to promoting health, fitness, recreation, national cohesion and professionalism that ensures sustainable wealth creation, development and management of sporting infrastructure.
The BBC-trained journalist, now boss of the NSA, sure has a tough task of putting things in order, especially after the bad press the Authority has been in 2024 over the poor handling of various national stadia.
