Ahead of Ghana’s crucial WAFCON 2024 quarterfinal clash with Algeria, Black Queens attacker Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has expressed her readiness to play a more prominent role. The England-born forward is focused on making a bigger impact as the team eyes a semifinal berth, bringing her experience and attacking flair to Ghana’s quest for continental glory.

The 29-year-old scored a sensational curler in Ghana’s dominant 4-1 win over Tanzania in their final Group C match ” her first goal at the tournament and third overall for the senior national team.

“I’m grateful to be able to show it on the biggest stage in Africa with this badge on my chest,” she told JoySports. “I hope I can add a lot more to the game ” not just goals, but assists, leadership, and encouragement.”

The victory secured Ghana a place in the quarterfinals, where they will face Algeria on Saturday, July 19. The match is set to kick off at 16:00 GMT at the Stade Municipal de Berkane.

Boye-Hlorkah is expected to play a key role once again as the Black Queens aim to continue their impressive run in the tournament.
