Match Officials Complete Rigorous Fitness Test Ahead of 2025/26 Football Season

A total of 340 referees have successfully completed their fitness test as part of the concluding assessment process for the 2025/26 football season.

The nationwide exercise conducted in two zones, with 150 match officials taking part in the Northern Zone in Kumasi, and 190 officials participating in the Southern Zone in Koforidua.

The fitness test is a crucial component of the referee assessment program, designed to ensure that match officials are adequately prepared and physically capable of meeting the demands of the new season.

Referees who successfully pass all stages of the assessment will be certified to officiate across the GFA’s elite domestic competitions, including the Premier League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, Access Bank Division One League and MTN FA Cup

The GFA remains committed to upholding high refereeing standards ensuring fairness, professionalism and quality officiating across all competitions.
