WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN A FRIEND COLLASPES DUE TO HEART ATTACT OR IS DROWNING

When the heart has stopped pumping efficiently, CPR requires a precise combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths to restore oxygenated blood flow throughout the body. The general CPR procedures are as follows:

1.Analyze the situation: It’s important to check the surroundings for safety before beginning CPR and to spot any potential dangers or concerns.
2.Verify the responsiveness: By lightly patting the person’s shoulder and asking them if they are okay, you can tell whether they are conscious or unconscious. If they don’t answer, you must move quickly.
3.Invoke assistance: Call the local emergency number or ask someone nearby to call emergency medical services for you as soon as possible.

4.Begin compressions: Place the heel of one hand on the center of the person’s chest, interlock your other hand on top, and push down hard and fast, aiming for a depth of approximately two inches. Perform a series of 30 chest compressions at a rate of around 100-120 compressions per minute.

5.Rescue breaths: After completing the compressions, tilt the person’s head back slightly, lift their chin, and give two rescue breaths by covering their mouth with yours and delivering enough air to make their chest rise.

6.Continue cycles: Repeat the cycle of thirty chest compressions followed by two rescue breaths until professional medical help arrives or the person shows signs of responsiveness.
