Aston Villa have announced the signing of Donyell Malen, who arrives from Borussia Dortmund and signs until 2029, that is, the remainder of the season plus four more. In addition, the English team pays around 23 million euros plus 3 million euros in add-ons.
The January transfer window is heating up and there are already several rumours about possible deals. Something that is no longer a rumour is the arrival of Donyell Malen at Aston Villa, who made it official on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dutch player arrives from Borussia Dortmund, with whom he made 132 appearances in three and a half seasons and scored 39 goals. However, he has never really settled in the team.
“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Dutch international Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund,” Villa said in a statement.
The winger from the Netherlands has signed for Unai Emery’s side until 2029, i.e. the remainder of this season and four more. It is a signing requested by the Spanish coach in order to reinforce the attacking side.
Aston Villa will pay around 23 million euros fixed, plus 3 million euros in add-ons. It should be remembered that Malen is current runner-up in the Champions League with Borussia after losing in the final against Real Madrid, a match in which he only played 10 minutes, although he did have more participation in this season’s Champions League match, where he scored a goal and provided an assist.
