The Ghana Air Force men and women volleyball teams have been crowned winners at the finals of the 2024 Greater Accra Volleyball Association (GAVA) knock out tournament held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium on Sunday 7 July 2024.
The men’s team beat the Ghana Army, Ghana Police and the Immanuel Presby Church to clinch the first position while the women’s team were a force to reckon with as they beat, Ghana Police, Ghana Army and the El-Wak Queens to dominate the women’s competition.
The competition which began on Friday 5 July 2024 saw the teams competing against other teams from the Ghana Prisons, Ghana Immigration, El Wak Wings, Osu Youth, TCL Club and the LA Pioneers Club.
At the end of the knockout competition, trophies were presented to both teams by Mr Anane Abubakar and Mr Benjamin Tettey of the Greater Accra Volleyball Association.
Mr Alfed Ofei Awuku, the technical director of the Greater Accra Volleyball Association and Vice Chairman of the Greater Accra Region in a short speech congratulated the teams and charged them to continue to exhibit the professional ethics of the competition.
Meanwhile the league competition progresses to the next stage. Kudos to the teams!
