AFCON 2023: Black Stars Coach Chris Hughton names ‘Might’ Starting XI for Cape Verde showdown, Kudus misses out while Dede Ayew, Inaki and others start from beach

Chris Hughton has named Salisu Mohammed and Antoine Semenyo in his starting line up for Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations group B opener against Cape Verde.

Salisu who plays for AS Monaco, will be making his first competitive appearance for the Black Stars since the World Cup game against Uruguay in Qatar.

He will partner Alexander Djiku in central defence, while, Gideon Mensah and Denis Odoi operate as full backs.

Baba Iddrisu and Majeed Ashimeru will work in the heart of the pitch. On the wings are Jordan Ayew and Joseph Painstil.

Richard Ofori maintains his place in post. Antoine Semenyo leads the attack, while Ransford Yeboah Koningsdoffer plays in the hole behind Semenyo.

The game is scheduled for 8pm kick off at stade Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.
