AFCON 2023: We’re committed to The Black Stars – Jordan Ayew

Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew says, all the players are committed to the Black Stars and he disagreed with those who say the players are not committed to the team.

The Black Stars of Ghana, suffered a shocking defeat in their first game against Vape Verde and this has led to a huge backlash in camp of the the Techincal Team and the playing body, with some fans expressing their frustrations.

Ghana will be coming face -face against the Pharoahs of Egypt on Thursday, and must avoid a defeat to keep their hopes of qualifying to the Round of 16 alive.

Speaking at the Press conference ahead of Egypt game, Jordan Ayew said,

“Football is our bread and butter, so I disagree with people who say we are not committed. I agree we have to do better, we have to be more determined, but to say we are not committed, I disagree”

It doesn’t go our away at times and we know we have to do better”.

“Tomorrow is a big day, and we know what it means to Ghanaians and we the players personally. We want to perform in this tournament, and we didn’t just come to visit Abidjan; we came to perform”

“We have to be aggressive in every department of the game, and I believe we would be fine and are really working hard, and hopefully tomorrow would be a good day for Ghana,” he said.

The Black Stars are scheduled to face the Pharaohs of Egypt in their second Group B encounter slated for the Stade Félix-Houphouët-Boigny on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
