FC Savannah crowned Northern Regional Women’s Division One Champions

FC Savannah have been confirmed as Northern Regional Women’s Division One champions with a 3-1 win over Anfaani Ladies on the final match day at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium Annex.

“The Fire Girls” went undefeated during the 2023-2024 season and finished first in the league standings with 64 points.

Inspired by former Black Queens player Safia Abdul Rahman, FC Savannah won 21 games and drew just one out of 22 matches. They scored 75 goals and conceded 10.FB IMG 1715689564642

The Northern Region will send two representatives to the Zonal Championship, allowing runners-up Nasara Ladies to join regional champions FC Savannah at the Northern Zonal Championship, which will be held in Winkogo, Upper East, from June 6th to 15th.

Alhaji Abu-Hassan Mahamadu (Rhyzor), Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, has congratulated both clubs on their hard work this season and hopes that they will be able to earn places in the Women’s Premier League next season.
