Le Havre star Andre Dede Ayew family responds to shock Black Stars 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers bombshell decision

Andre Dede Ayew wasn’t selected for Otto Addo’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers squad as Ghana look to make its five appearance in the world FIFA World Cup.

Le Havre forward Andre Dede Ayew has broken his silence after being snubbed from Ghana’s’ 26 man squad to face Mali and the Central African Republic in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The 34-year-old has been impressive in the France League1 for Le Havre season Dede Ayew season saw him register  five goals and 0 assist in 19 appearances as they avoided relegation.

Otto Addo opted to call-up the likes of Joseph Painstil and Jeffrey Schlupp in his attacking ranks after naming a 26-man squad for the next two games.

In an interview with Solar Ayew, a family member of Dede Ayew on Asempa FM,

The Black Stars captaincy is not for the Ayew family, it’s for Ghana. We can lose the captaincy but we are still having the football in our family. The captaincy is not ours but the football is there. You can take everything from us but you cannot take away the football. We have young ones coming so we are not worried at all,” he told Asempa FM.

Their upcoming fixtures against Mali and the Central African Republic present an opportunity to consolidate their position in the group, with the first match scheduled for June 6, 2024, in Bamako, followed by a home fixture on June 10, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
