Army Ladies beat Police Ladies to Women’s FA Cup for the first time

Army Ladies  claimed their first major trophy since their inception in 2019 with a 1-0 win over Police in the Women’s FA Cup final at the University of Ghana sports stadium- Legon.

In the first final without one of Hasaaca Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies for the first time. Police had the chance to win the tournament for the second time while Army had the opportunity to win it for first time in their history.

It was Army who rose to the occasion, controlling the first half and finally scoring in the second half thanks to Debroah Opokus’ brilliant strike on the 49″.

Police Ladies have been to  the women’s FA Cup finals four times, they lost four of them and won just one in 2016.
