Berry Ladies FC has claimed its first victory of the season with a spirited performance against Soccer Intellectuals Ladies FC at their home ground. The 2:1 win marks an important milestone for the team as they bagged their first three points on the road.

The match kicked off with a burst of energy, and it didn’t take long for Berry Ladies to announce their presence. Jemina Twumwaa opened the scoring within the early minutes of the game, sending the traveling fans into a frenzy. Minutes later, Deborah Annoh capitalized on a brilliant team play to double the lead, putting Berry Ladies comfortably ahead.

The team displayed resilience and determination, maintaining their two-goal advantage until the 75th minute when Soccer Intellectuals managed to pull one back. The game turned tense when Berry Ladies’ defender, Priscilla S. Agyemang, received a red card, forcing the team to play the final minutes with ten players.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Berry Ladies held on firmly, showcasing defensive grit and tactical discipline to see out the match and secure the win.

Speaking after the game, Head Coach Dora Zutah, who recorded her first victory of the season alongside Assistant Coach Nii Kpani, praised the team’s effort:
“This victory is a testament to the hard work we’ve been putting in during training. The players executed our game plan excellently, especially in the first half. Even when we went down to ten players, they showed great character to hold on. This win is for the fans who have supported us unwaveringly.”

Assistant Coach Nii Kpani added:
“It’s a proud moment for the team. Winning away from home is never easy, but the ladies showed the fight and focus we’ve been working on. This is just the beginning of what we aim to achieve this season.”

The victory not only boosts morale but also sets the tone for the rest of the season as Berry Ladies FC looks to build momentum and climb the league table.
